Day-by-day itinerary

9 days. Gurudongmar Lake, Yumthang Valley, Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir, Pelling and Darjeeling, with breakfast and dinner daily.

  1. Day 1: Bagdogra to Gangtok

    • Arrive at Bagdogra airport or NJP railway station and meet the tour coordinator.
    • Drive to Gangtok through the Himalayan foothills.
    • Check in; evening at leisure.

  2. Day 2: Gangtok to Lachen

    • Drive to Lachen through changing mountain landscapes and villages.
    • Check in and rest before the early start for Gurudongmar.

  3. Day 3: Gurudongmar Lake, then Lachung

    • Early departure for Gurudongmar Lake, one of Sikkim's most spectacular high-altitude lakes.
    • Continue to Lachung for the night.

  4. Day 4: Yumthang Valley, back to Gangtok

    • Yumthang Valley, known for its mountain scenery and seasonal flowers.
    • Drive back to Gangtok for the night.

  5. Day 5: Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir

    • High-altitude excursion to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir.
    • Nathula Pass depends on permits and weather; permit and visit charges are extra.
    • Return to Gangtok.

  6. Day 6: Gangtok to Pelling

    • Drive through West Sikkim to Pelling.
    • Check in; evening at leisure with mountain views.

  7. Day 7: Pelling to Darjeeling

    • Drive to Darjeeling on Himalayan roads.
    • Check in; relaxed evening in the 'Queen of the Hills'.

  8. Day 8: Darjeeling sightseeing

    • Full day of Darjeeling sightseeing as per the local plan: Himalayan views, heritage sights, tea and market time.

  9. Day 9: Darjeeling to Bagdogra

    • Check out after breakfast and transfer to Bagdogra airport or NJP station for onward travel.
